Hello:

I have bought some pearl dust for my first gum paste shoe. I am allowing the shoe to dry first before I place the dust on it. I do not have an air brush and I know that you can mix the dust with vodka, lemon juice or clear vanilla. Which one works the best? Will the dust stick to dry gumpaste?

Thanks...

Hi, you can dry brush it on the shoe. That what I do when I use pearl dust. I only mix the silver and gold dusts with vodka, when I make jewellery or something silver and gold. And also do not use lemon juice as it won't give you a nice colour. Clear extract is fine.

I use clear vanilla and it works fine... both brushed on and with airbrush.

Brushing it on dry will work, but it is a much softer effect, imho.
