Today is my husbands birthday. Since he really doesn't want an elaborate cake, I'm making him a small butter pecan cake. He LOVES it. My question is whether adding the extenders to it will take away from the butter pecan flavor. I've done it with the vanilla, chocolate and white, but this is different I think. Any help would be appreciated as soon as possible because I'm getting ready to make it now.....LOL....

When I make my buttered pecan cake I sauté some finely chopped pecans in butter and add those to the batter.
Its a nice nutty flavor and texture.

As with any extender/enhancer recipe, adding extract or flavoring to match or complement the cake flavor is recommended. icon_smile.gif
