How do I put fondant ribbon around the bottom of a cake? When I try to pick it up, it tends to bend and get distorted before I can wrap it around a 16 inch cake.

I'm not sure exactly how to explain it....but you would take the long strip of fondant and roll up like you would roll a long bandage let's say for your ankle. icon_redface.gif

once it's rolled you can handle it easier, put one end on the cake and unravel it until you get all the way around the cake...

I hope I helped....I'm not very good at explaining how to do things icon_sad.gif

Maybe someone else might have a better explanation

Letting the fondant dry a little bit might help. When making the Lego cake, I leave the fondant sitting for a while before adding it to the cake. This way it stays in shape better.

Good luck!

Thanks for both of your ideas. And for answering so quickly. I let the fondant dry a little and rolled it up like a bandage and it went right on.
