How do I put fondant ribbon around the bottom of a cake? When I try to pick it up, it tends to bend and get distorted before I can wrap it around a 16 inch cake.
I'm not sure exactly how to explain it....but you would take the long strip of fondant and roll up like you would roll a long bandage let's say for your ankle.
once it's rolled you can handle it easier, put one end on the cake and unravel it until you get all the way around the cake...
I hope I helped....I'm not very good at explaining how to do things
Maybe someone else might have a better explanation
Letting the fondant dry a little bit might help. When making the Lego cake, I leave the fondant sitting for a while before adding it to the cake. This way it stays in shape better.
Good luck!

Thanks for both of your ideas. And for answering so quickly. I let the fondant dry a little and rolled it up like a bandage and it went right on.
