My customer has requested a two tier MMF covered cake for her daughter's 1st birthday next Sunday

She want Sesame Street characters. I will do a 10" bottom and 8" top tier.

Can anyone suggest any ideas, theme etc. I am really clueless. Pictures would be welcome as this is my first Sesame Street cake.

If you do a Google image search, you will get lots of pics of the Sesame St. muppets. I would just make some of those figures out of fondant or gumpaste and place them on the cake. You could pipe letters and numbers on the sides, too, as Sesame St. episodes are always "brought to you by the letters ___ and ___ and the number ___."
