I am thinking of a way to save money on all the cardboard cake boards. I came up with the idea of having my Dad make me wooden cake boards for bottom base. icon_surprised.gif

I need help as to what type of wood to use. I am asking for a 14/12/10/8 inch circle. I am thinking 1/2" thick boards.

Has anyone made these and could show me some photos or offer advice. icon_biggrin.gif

My husband cuts square and rectangle peices for me all the time out of mdf. Im pretty sure its 1/2 inch. Its sturdy and holds the cake well. I haven't asked him for a circle yet but I am sure it will come soon enough!
