icon_smile.gif I am in need of M & M cake ideas for my soon to be 9 year old daughter. We are planning an M&M theme birthday due to the fac that her name is Maddie Mae. Any ideas are appreciated. I've seen the kitkat/m&m barrell cake, but just didn't find it fitting for a little girl. Thanks for all the help

well.... I think the Peanut M&M is hilarious so..... so I'd make him. I'd have him in a party hat and blowing a horn -- eyes crossed.

option 1 -- 3D version - marry a wondermold w/ soccer ball pan. trim soccerball cake so it will sit flat on board. plop wondermold on top -- and there he is

option 2 -- 3D version - use the 3D egg pan set -- make his two halves....

option 3 -- flat on his back (been partying way too hard!) use football or half of 3D egg or sheet cake or oval cake w/ appropriate caring to get the basic shape -- then have arms and legs splayed like an pooped out party animal, horn still in mouth, eyes crossed

if you have the mini-egg pan:
option 4A -- a whole bunch of him in 3D -- marry two mini-egg halves, trim bottom so sits up

option 4B -- same as option 3 only now lots of him partied out.

For a little girl, you could use the white chocolate Kit Kats and just use the bags of pink m&m's. The tie the kit kats with a pink ribbon. That would make it girly!

I like the idea of making a the actual M& M character...and for a girl you just have to make the green girl M&M......here is a pic I found on here and one I found on the net...

I think you could even create your own pink M&M and name it after your daughter or something cute like this. I hope these other M&M cakes here on CC help fuel the creative juices for her cake. Good luck! I'm sure whatever you do she'll love it as well as all the other little kids at the party!

Mine is a really simple version compared to the great pics you've been given already, but here's another idea: http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=415413

The flowers have an M&M center, cakes are iced in M&M colors, the top border on the small cake is made with mini M&M's, the "daisy" type flowers are made with peanut M&M's with a mini M&M center.
