I am trying to duplicate this cake that shelleylynn made http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=331023

I have already made the spider webs out of royal icing but I have never made anything like this and I am not sure how to make the webs stick to the cake. Do you use royal icing to adhere them to the cake??? I would think it would need support somehow but I am unsure.

I am going to make my buildings by covering different size chocolate bars with fondant.... maybe I could let the web rest on them???

I have to finish this tonight or early morning tomorrow so any ideas or suggestions would be very helpful.

***I don't know if it makes a difference but my cake is covered in fondant not buttercream icing.

Not sure about fondant but I know when using buttercream you attach with buttercream. Sorry, maybe the bump will help.

use small dots of royal icing wherever the webs are touching the cake.

Thank you!!! I used the royal icing but I also ended up sticking part of the web into the cake... I could not afford for the web to fall and break : )

Here are the pictures... worked great!
