When making the butterflies, do you have to use piping gel on it?

Yes you use piping gel if you go to articles there is a step by step . Hope this helps.

Actually, you don't HAVE to use piping gel... They'll still work, but if your rice/wafer paper is too brittle, it may be difficult to cut. One of the benefits of using a VERY LIGHT coat of piping gel is it allows you to sprinkle with mystic dust, or some other type of edible glitter. In addition, after it "dries", it's easier to cut out and and handle. Good luck!

I have made them for years and never used piping gel on any of them!
