hello newbie here...how do you ladies do letter shaped cakes? do you use certain pans or just cut them out of a sheet cake free hand..thanks in advance..karla

I would just cut it from a sheet cake. I have never seen letter shaped pans. Numbers, yes. Letters, no.

The shape you start with would depend on what letter you need. (For a "C", I would use a round pan. For an "L", a square pan etc...)

I have only done numbers no letters, but I imagine they are the same as numbers. If you look in my photos, I have a 50 cake on there. All I did was make a sheet cake style cake, 11x15, and just carved out the number I wanted...so you would do the same for a letter.

It just depends on the # or letter needed and how many servings one needs.
