My daughter just showed me a picture of a carousel cake she want for her baby shower in two weeks. (I need practice time also) I really don't want to use a cake for the canopy. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could use. It doesn't have to be edible, but would prefer to be able to put icing on it. The rest of the shower has come together so easily, but am losing sleep over this. Need help and suggestions quick. Thanks to all who can help

the easiest would be to use cake.

Next i would maybe drape some gumpaste over a bowl the appropriate size and let it dry.

Or you could make from chocolate, there are molds out there for just this thing.
