I was listening to public radio and they said the "in" flavor for 2009 is chocolate and lavender.
Has anyone ever made this combination?
No but I've made lavender cookies and lavender pound cake--both vanilla.
Lavender is wonderful to work with. But you have to be careful because too much makes it taste bad, like soap I've heard. I never overdid it thank goodness.
Bu-ut I kept it in my drawer of spices & flavorings. I used to buy this vanilla butter powder from King Arthur and the lavender permeated it and it was awful after that had to ditch it, the powder that is.
So it is great and fun and beautiful but I will keep mine in a sealed jar probably.
