I want to make a butterfly cake topper for a christening cake that i have in a few weeks time but dont really know how to go about it and what to use, the topper i want to make is quite simple but i just need some guidance........ can anyone help? this is sort of what i want to make:

u can get all sorts of cutters for butterflies, then you could use gumpaste/ fondant. you could attatch colours in different layers? or i imagine u could pipe in royal icing as well. and just use wire for sugar flowers when any method is still wet - bigger butterflies would need a bigger wire. i hope that helps a little!

mount the b'flies on floral wires. Wrap the wires up about 3" from the bottom in floral wire &/or stick them into a plastic drink straw which is in the top of the cake.
