I put my 9 inch cake pans in the oven then realized the recipe called for 8inch pans. Does anyone know if this will really matter? I was planning on cutting each cake once so I have 4 layers. I am worried the layers will be too thin since I used a larger pan size.

It depends on what type of recipe you use. I use extender recipes so normally it would fill them anyway because I always have a lot left over. The only thing you can do is wait and see unless you just put them in. If you just put them in take them out and transfer them. Wait and see you may still need to torte them. Good luck

As long as the pan was filled at least 1/2 way up the side 0 better if 2/3s - there will be no problem.

It will probably be a little thinner than normal, but you should be able to torte it just fine!
