Hi All Cupcake experts!!
Can anyone give me a general idea of how much b/c icing is needed for 100 cupcakes? I do not do large orders for them very often and am working on a New Year's Eve wedding order for 100. This is a new one for me!!!!
For instance how many batches of the regular Wilton B/C recipe will I need using the large star tip?
Thanks all - Have a very happy and safe holiday. Love you guys!!!!

bump!
I have an order for 100 cupcakes for a baby shower that will take place tomorrow. The cupcakes and fondant decos are done but I'm lost with the buttercream. How much do I make? I will be using the Ateco tip 847 (looks like a big brother to the Wilton 1M). All/any help would be greatly appreciated!

Here's a chart for frosting cakes. It doesn't speak specifically to to cupcakes, but it may help:

I get about 18 swirls out of 1 batch of icing, which is approx 3 cups.

I hope you get more responses... I'm curious. icon_smile.gif

I would say about 6 batches or so.
