Okay.... I am doing a figure skate for my friends daughters birthday friday. I have my cakes baked and now I just need to figure out how to carve them in the shape of a figure skate!
Any ideas from my fellow CC'ers would be wonderful!

Thanks again!

are you doing the skate in 3-D standing up?? Or just 2-D laying down on it's side??? You should be able to find some directions for boots and then just put a blade on the bottom of it.

Ok, if you're going to do 2D, I would make a pattern using a piece of cardboard and use it to cut the cake to the desired shape. I would use fondant with tylose added to form the blade and paint it with silver luster dust mixed in alcohol or extract.
