How do you keep the icing from sticking to the cake board of the top cake on a layered cake? When I use fondant, after the first layer is done when the board is removed the fondant on the bottom layer always sticks. Is there a way to keep this from happening?

Hi, you can try sprinkling a little bit of powdered sugar on the bottom tier. icon_smile.gif

There have been many different things used but alas many of them should not be used because of allergies: finely chopped nuts; or coconut.
Some other options might be: graham cracker crumbs or almost anything crumbed. It doesn't take much, just a light coating pressed lightly into the icing.
