Hi everyone, I have to make a rollerskating cake this weekend for a 6 yr old. the birthday girl wants chocolate frosting and her favorite colors are purple, orange, blue red and yellow. Those colors are hard to work with when using chocolate frosting. Any suggestions? I'm also planning on making a figurine of the birthday girl to put on top of the cake, she wants either a 12 inch hexagon or 11x15 sheet cake so I have alot of space to fill up on top of the cake and my mind is just not working right now. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

How about making an actual roller skate? There are quite a few examples here on CC. I will attach a few I found for you to help the ideas flow! Good luck! I looked at your pics and you are awesome!!! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Thanks!!! I love the monkey one, thats why I suggested the figurine on top actually icon_biggrin.gif I also thought of roller skates but the mom doesn't really think much outside the box, she's pretty stuck on just one tier so I'm thinking the figurine on top, maybe on a wood floor like a roller rink and I don't know what else. I'd like to make it girly and fun but its so hard to bring in lots of color with chocolate, at least for me anyway.

Here's one I did.... you could do something similar, instead have the sides and top chocolate (maybe center white), w/ the different color skates and ribbons that she wants... ??

thanks cake buddies! I love your cake allison! I think that's basically what I'm going to do. I'll make some skates and some pretty curly q's and a couple flowers to make it girly. The mom said I can use whatever accent color I want so even though pink isn't one of her favs I think I'm going to do a light and dark pink with the chocolate and maybe white too. I think that's the best color choice to match with chocolate, I just hope she likes it!
Thanks !!!!
