Why do some colors of icing start to change with dots of colors appearing after a few hours? Are there any particular colors that are more prone to do this? I am attempting to color MMF a deep purple. Will it change colors and create dots? Any suggestions on how to accomplish a really deep purple? Sorry for all of the questions, but I'm really new at this.

I have not experienced your problem yet (knock on wood). I try to add my coloring to my liquid when making my own MMF. I will also make it a few days before I need it to allow the color to deepen.

You can always knead it again to mix it a bit more. I always use gel colors.
