I usually use mixes when I bake cakes...... The instructions say to moisten everything, and then beat for two minutes...... here comes the question...... icon_redface.gif If I'm using TWO mixes, do I beat it for FOUR minutes ? I've always just done the two minutes, but is it wrong ? icon_redface.gif

no no no no no!!! 2 would be find... but..

I just made a mistake similar!

first are you using a hand mixer or stand?

if using a stand, i was advised to only go to level 2... and i just mixed enough to get everything incorporated..

Yep, as rocketgirl said, just beat for 2 minutes. And in 25+ yrs of baking I have almost always times my beatingicon_smile.gif
I know ;many say just until it looks imcorporated but I had to time my 2 minutes or I just could not put it in the pan! icon_smile.gif

I use a stand mixer and first I moisten all the ingredients and then beat on 4 for 2 mins. I usually do one box @ the time. I guess you could do it either way but only mix it for 2 mins.
