I have a cake I'm doing tomorrow for my son's halloween party. I'm doing a witch cake and of course I need black fondant. I painted the cake with the black gel color using a brush. Was I crazy to do this? Will people's mouths turn black? I need to know asap b/c I'll tear off the fondant and figure out another design. A friend of mine told me not too worry b/c it will dry and also most people take off the fondant when they eat the cake. But I'm one of those people that like to eat fondant with my cake. I'm doing this cake for free but I hope to get business from this. What do I do???????

Most likely, yes the mouth will turn black if you covered it completely in black. But, in all honesty, if it is a halloween party with a bunch of kids, especially boys, they will think it is totally cool. And, it won't last long. you can offer mouth wash in their goody bags. icon_smile.gif Hehehehe
