so I got myself an awesome little compressor to go with my airbrush (husky 6 gl pancake model, and yes I put a particle filter on it).
its a bottom feed but I will live
I wanna start playing with food coloring
I have both the gel colors and the liquid colors
do I mix the gel colors with vodka??
someone enlighten me please
oh and can i use the luster dusts in the airbrush??
I mix my gel colors with a little vanilla and use the largest size needle and never have a problem. I use the AmeriColors the same way.
leah
where would i get airbrush food colors??
jenlg, how much vanilla to gel color ratio??
I ''guesstamate'' really.....probably like a half tsp. vanilla per tbsp. of color. It's hard to tell the amount.. Basically I put the color in the jar and slowly drop in the vanilla until it thins out. Sorry I can't be more precise. Little vanilla at a time.
I buy airbrush colors at my local cake and candy supplies store. I also order them from CK and/or BakeryCrafts.
Americolor also makes airbrush colors. I just ordered a bunch from intotheoven.com. For 4.5 oz...they're around $2 each.
I have one too and I have been practicing off and on with air popped pop corn in a huge roasting pan with deep sides.
I have gotten the feel for setting the pressure that way. Too high and it blows the popcorn out of the pan lower it.
I get my colors from decopac, ck and occasionally when I'm in memphis a place called mary carter. bakinstuff.om
awesome
thanks everyone
Im gonna hit up the only local cake decorating supply store this afternoon.
Hopefully they have some airbrush colors.
Thanks
