I want to make a frosting recipe I found but am not sure what Heavy Cream is. What does this look like? Do I find it right at the grocery store with like the milk or??
Thanks for any help!

Hi Trisha,
Heavy cream is whipping cream. Yes, you find it right near the milk in most stores.

Yes, you will find it there. The carton usually says heavy whipping cream.

You mean you have never used heavy cream?!? You don't know what you're missing... I use it instead of milk in packaged pasta dishes (pasta roni, mac n cheese, etc.) As well as instant mashed potatoes... Improves the flavor immensely.

I use it in icing and ganache as well - but most people don't think of using it in place of milk when cooking.

Heavy Cream or Heavy "Whipping" Cream has 36 - 40% butterfat and when whipped it holds its form and doubles in volume.

Whipping Cream has a butterfat content of 30%. It whips but not as well as heavy cream, and will not hold its form long.
