So, I'd read all the rave reviews about Melvira's smoothing method and wanted to try it, but never could remember to purchase the high density roller. I don't make that many cakes since I only make for family and friends, but I have a cake that's due today and I had to run to Wal-Mart at 11:00pm last night for the foam board. Yep, you guessed it...I left Wal-Mart with the foam board and a HD roller! Let me tell you...I just tried it and it works like a dream! I've never been able to get my bc smooth! I'm still amazed...I keep going back over to look at the cake because I can't believe it! If you haven't tried this...you should.
