I had a small cake that I had already filled with buttercream and decided against using it. I have put it in my freezer wrapped up in saran wrap and than in a ziploc. It has been in there for about 2 weeks now. Is this cake still usable? I know you can freeze cakes, but filled? Do I let it thaw if so, before frosting it?

I had a filled cake in my freezer for about a month. I took it out and let it thaw before removing the wrapping, and it tasted absolutely wonderful. I never would have known it had been frozen.

Cake freezes well, and so does buttercream, so I would assume it's fine.
