How To Attach Loop Bow To Top Of Cake?

Can I just sit it on the top tier or do I need a glob of buttercream to sit it in?

The cake is buttercream btw.

I would use a glob of buttercream.

Since it's a buttercream cake, buttercream would work.

For a fondant cake we just made, we used water to adhere the bow to the cake.
