Can we use cake dummies for the CC decorating contests, or do the entries need to be made from real cake?

For the most part competition cakes can be made with styrofoam. If, however, they are carved in any way, then they must be real cake. You will also need to include at least 3 in-progress photos. Usually these consist of the cake stacked, then carved, then frosted.

The rules should tell you if the cake needs to be real or not.

Thanks! thumbs_up.gif I thought you probably could, I just didn't see anything about it in the rules. I wondered because some people seem to have a difficult time stacking cakes, or keeping the filling from bulging, or keeping the icing from sliding off, etc. Didn't know if a proficiency in those areas needed to be shown as well.

If I use a dummy it sure gives me a lot more time to do the decorating.... that's the fun part. Besides, there's no way I could eat that much cake! icon_eek.gificon_eek.gificon_eek.gif
