If you are in need of some comic relief....

I remembered the old movie and saw the book in the library. The book is not much like the movie (but both are fun).

The Egg and I is a fictionalized account of Betty MacDonald's experiences as a young, pre-depression era bride of a chicken rancher. They lived in the mountains of Washington state - w/o running water and electricity. Betty had some baking/cooking disasters of her own and an unsympathetic husband. The story she tells about her pressure cooker blowing up was freaking hiliarious.

If you see this one at the library, be sure and pick it up. It's an oldie, but a goodie.

i love the Egg and I. I used to watch it with my mom. Many find it strange that i enjoy old movies, but they have something special about them that new movies do not have!
