Ok I decided to do a topsy tury cake for my daughters birthday, I researched how to do it on CC, tons of tips on how to put it together. thank you all. My problem is no one mentioned how aggravating putting fondant on a cake like this could be. I can put fondant on a round cake just fine, but since this was taller on one side than the other, I had wrinkes galor. All of the ones I looked at in the gallery were perfect, what can I do? I'm affraid to try another one.
I used MMF on a 8, 12 inch pan cake.

It definitely takes more skill to cover a TT cake but seems like with just a little practice you will get it. Just keep going round and round the cake smoothing and fluffing the ruffle as you go. Just like a regular cake but you have to go slower. Fondant doesn't have to be really thick, but a little thicker than normal helps - I tend to get really thin by the time I get to the bottom of one side with the excess stretching.
