I just saw this at Hallmark.com:

http://www.hallmark.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/article%7C10001%7C10051%7C/HallmarkSite/GoldCrownStores/ADHESIVE_WRAP_DEMO

This should be a boon to wrapping cake boards!

It sticks to itself and the package (or a board) but can be pulled up and moved if you make a mistake. I've got to find some and try it.

Would it be an issue with food safety? It does look convenient but i'm afraid of my cake and the health of my clients being compromised.

I wouldn't think that would be food safe.

What would be food safe is to wrap your cake board with wrapping paper, and then cover with clear contact paper.

Good idea though!

Is clear contact paper food safe? Is this the kind used to line your shelves?

If it's just the cake board, does food safety even matter? Some places use white glue to glue down paper to the boards, and that wouldn't be considered "edible".

The cake isn't resting directly on the board, but instead on the cardboard round it is on...so will food safety matter?
