Betty Crocker Chocolate Fudge mix is a very dark brown.Try adding some black food coloring in the mix if she wants it black!!

This fudge brownie cake (which I just happened to link to in another thread too), bakes up quite dark and SUPER chocolatey and rich. Honestly if she wants it almost black you might STILL want to add in some black coloring lol, but it is definitely a dark chocolate cake, prob. darker still if you use coffee instead of water. http://forum.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopic-52587-30.html see p. 3

You could also add Hershey's Special Dark Cocoa powder to your chocolate cake mix. It is REALLY delicious!
