I'm making a 3-D deer head cake, for the cake board I was thinking of getting a bunch of different leaves from outside, laying them on the board and then covering them all with clear contact paper.

Would it be safe to have leaves from out side on the board like that? I had thought about buying some fake ones but they would be thicker.

I think that would be fine. Make sure they are clean, bug free.
