i just bought a bunch of cool computers and cell phones and castles....went nutz and spent almost 100 bucks.

Yes you can tint it with food coloring, the kind made for chocolate is the best. But i have used cake coloring for it, it just wants to set up on you pretty fast so i add a little shortening to it.

Yes you can. You can color it but if you don't use candy colors you'll need to add shortening to keep it from seizing.

For colors like red you might want to buy the melts, it takes so much coloring to get those colors that it's worth it. I prefer the colored melts in all shades, if I'm doing something small I can just grab a few and don't have to mess around with coloring.

You can also buy cocoa butter colors (essentially tinted cocoa butter), which are used for coloring and painting on chocolate, but would obviously work for candy melts/almond bark as well. I know chef rubber carries a full range of these colors.
