Buttercream Cake With Fondant Accents

Please help I am doing a buttercream cake for saturday and would like to add fondant accents, do I cut out and let dry ahead of time or do I place on the morning before, do I use water or buttercream to attach.

It depends on the decoration. Basically you usually apply them as you cut them. I prefere to pipe a open circle of b'cream to attach them -- just depends on how big/thick you make them.
