I really want to try this for my sons birthday this weekend but i also want to do a strawberry filling. would the two taste ok together? Also im trying for a filling like the kind in walmart or redners cakes. the recipe i found was 1 pkg. jello, 8 T. cornstarch, 2 c. sugar, 2 c. water or 7 up and red food color. im hoping it tastes good. if anyone has any suggestions i would love to hear. thanks amy

Certainly the strawberry fill will be fine w/my *original* WASC recipe If you'd rather, you can use vanilla & strawbverry extracts in the recipe.
I am not fimilar w/the recipe you mention (nor the filling used by either of those stores) but......
that seems like *a lot!* of sugar added to jello which is already sweet
A good quality all fruit jam (Smucker's) is great to use.
