What is the best cake recipe to use for carving? I'm doing a shark cake this weekend and was wondering which recipe would hold up better to carving and holding strong edges!
Thanks.
Hi, I don't do much carving, but I found few recipes which are for carving.

HTH.
Carving the cake while frozen or semi-frozen will help with whatever recipe you use.

Wrapping cakes hot of the oven in Saran Wrap isn't recommended because the trapped moisture can change the texture of the cake and/or encourage mold growth:

I love shark cakes! The best shortening for a carved cake is butter so use a recipe that calls for butter. The cake should be well frozen when you start to carve. Butter will make the cake harder when frozen so it will be neater to carve. Please post the finished cake.
