As a thank you for my contractor who just finished renovating my basement, I wanted to make his a cake in the shape of his van that blocked my car into my driveway for two months. It's a plain blue van with his logo, so not so hard to decorate, I just never assembled a van-shaped cake. Do I just stack cakes together, do I need to sculpt? I don't even know where to start with this, so any help would be appreciated.

I would start with a loaf pan, or if you don't have a simple loaf start with a sheet and cut in half and stack, then just some simple carving should do it for you

Thanks, what do I put between layers - a thin buttercream or is there something special to be used on these types of cakes?
