I do mostly 3D cakes but also do some wedding cakes. This has happened to me twice and I can't figure out why. When I arrived at the event location to set up my fondant covered wedding cake I noticed that it had developed large air bubbles. These air bubbles where not there when I had originally placed the fondant over the cake and I can't figure out why this happens. I am able to smooth them down but have nightmares of them reappearing during the reception. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I had the same thing happen one time. I was not able to smooth the bubbles out. I wound up popping them with a tiny needle and smothing the fondant to blend the little hole. I wish I knew what caused it icon_cry.gif
