Honorable Mention At First Cake Contest

My cake recieved a ribbon for "honorable mention" at the Puyallup Fair Amateur Wilton Cake Decorating Contest. I suppose I should be happy but I feel a little dissappointed... I really wanted to place! I haven't gone to see the other cakes I was up against yet, my grandma just called to tell me what I got.
I am happy cause this is my first contest and I really didn't know what to expect. There was no theme so I just did a cake that was really "me". Anyway, just thought I would share!!

Your cake is lovely! Congrats on the honorable mention...that is something to be proud of, even if you don't feel like it is just yet...just wait until you go and see how many cakes there are with no ribbon of any sort, or just a participation ribbon, and you'll realize that you did well
Your cake is beautiful. I like entering fair contests and I find that humorous and sculpted cakes do very well in these contests.
