Hi. I'm a newbie to cake decorating. icon_smile.gif I am going to make a cake for a pot luck in a couple weeks for my husband's BMW motorcycle club. I was thinking of just doing the logo and I needed some ideas of how to do it. I'm not sure if I should just star tip the whole thing or try to make it smooth. I can't decide if I should do a big round cake or a sheet cake with the logo in the middle or something. What do ya think?

Thanks!

Hi! I made a BMW cake with the logo --it's in my pictures.

I rolled out tinted fondant, and cut it to size, and then did the smaller lines with icing. I made a key fob out of fondant too, but then I found out it didn't look like the actual BMW fob. icon_confused.gif

If you needed more servings, just bake a small 8" cake quite thin (about an inch) and perhaps put that on top of the iced sheet cake. That way it would have some dimension.

Hope this helps! thumbs_up.gif
