Hello! I am making a gift-bag cake and need some advice. I've made the "tissue paper" out of gumpaste and it looks great. It is very very thin though so I am wondering what would be the best way to attach it to the cake. I am thinking of attaching lollipop sticks (maybe two per piece of tissue) with royal icing on the back of the piece and then sticking it into the cake from there.
I guess I am nervous that the royal icing will soak through the gumpaste and make it soggy and that it will fall apart before it ever dries. Should I use something else to attach the sticks? Would it be better to use gumpaste glue (a bit of gumpaste mixed with water until spreadable)?
Please help!

. . . royal icing won't affect the gumpaste . . . just be sure your royal won't be visible (or make it the same color as your tissue if it will) . . .
