hey everyone, i have never used cake dummies, and im entering in the NC ICES comp in sept. so i will be using a 1/2 sheet cake dummy and a 2 or 3 layer round. the layered one is going to be fondant and i know i need to spray very lightly with water first. but i have a few other questions if anyone can help.
1) how do i prepare the sheet cake for buttercream?
2) will buttercream stay ok for another month?
3) should i wrap both dummies with press and seal or plastic wrap first?
4)how should i store them. i live on hilton head island SC and i have the a/c on and its hot out so lots of moisture?
any othe suggestions would be great for this first timer
You don't need to wrap the dummies. you can easily re use them.
If you are using a typical buttercream with shorting, it will last a very long time. It will just dry out some
If you have a dryer spot or a room with a de-humidifier, that is where I would store them, out of the light and protected from dust.
