Does a good tasting basic cake recipe exist so that you can change certain ingredients to change the flavor? For example, the base recipe might be flour, sugar, eggs, butter, and oil, then for vanilla cake add vanilla pudding, vanilla extract, and vanilla Lorann oil, for strawberry cake use strawberry pudding + extract + oil, etc? I am trying to think of a way to make the baking part more efficient (but still taste good) without buying box mixes.
