I am fairly new to decorating and my friend wants a yellow cake with chocolate buttercream icing for his birthday next week. He specifically told me "do not gay it up" with flowers, etc.

Could you post some pics of chocolate iced cakes you've done so I can get some ideas? He loves beach themes, lighthouses, etc but I am not too good at freehanding things.

what about truffles on top? have you searched the galleries at all? there are tons of choc iced cakes in there, I'm sure you could find something. good luck
