How long will it last and will the cake need refrigeration?? I've never had sleeved fillings before.

The cake won't need to be refrigerated. It's the same stuff that they fill doughnuts with and they just sit out. I believe the shelf life is 6 months unopened, and 3 months opened and refrigerated.

Does it need to be refrigerated? Our instructor told us that it didn't need to be. Just to close it off with a twist tie. I really want to know if this is wrong.

It does not need to be refrigerated, but it will prolong the shelf life if you do.

I do refrigerate it after it is opened and you are correct it is a 3 month shelf life after it is opened. 6 months if it is not opened.
