My Italian Cream Cake recipe makes 3 9" rounds. I would like to make a larger cake. If I double the recipe, what size pans should I use?

I have 10" rounds and 12" rounds.

I was thinking that if I make 1 1/2 times the recipe, it would be enough to fill 3 of the 12" rounds?

What do you think?

I usually double my recipe for this flavor of cake and just use whatever I have left over to make cupcakes. I would think using 11/2 recipes would give you enough batter for the 12" pans but I like having a little extra...just in case. I hate having to make more batter 'cause I didn't have enough the first time!! Hope this helps.

Yeah, I think I am just going to double it and go from there... Thanks.
