Hi everyone! I have some already dry gumpaste hibiscus. I made them a couple of days ago and now I need to color them. Now mind you, I have blonde hair....I'm having a "moment".........LOL.....do I have to mix the americolor with anything or can I use it by itself? It's the liquid. Or, can I just use petal dust? If so, do I use it by itself or with a liquid? If liquid, which one....?
Thanks in advance! I have a cake due tomorrow and I really really need to know!
You can use the Americolor straight if you are wanting a deep color, or if you want it more subtle then dilute it with clear extract or vodka. If I am going for a natural looking flower I usually dust petal dust on dry. If you want it to be stronger, more definate lines, etc, then mix a little petal or luster dust with a little clear extract or vodka to make it like a thin paint.
