I want to make a rum cake ( for the first time ) but the recipes in the recipe section have nuts in them. Can I just leave the nuts out or is there another recipe I should use?

U don't have to put nuts in them, my DH doesn't like nuts so I leave them out. To me the nuts provides a good nutty flavor and texture but if u don't want to use them u don't have to. Sometimes if requested I'd use raisins or golden raisins soaked in rum. But its completely optional...

if you like a nutty flavor but cannot/don't want nuts try searching for a brown butter cake recipe. You toast the butter until golden and it produces a nutty yummy cake. I use a brown butter recipe and add rum to it, paired with a lime filling. YUM YUM
