I boy from our parish was just made a deacon and the church is having a nice dinner for him. I wanted to do a tiered cake instead of a sheet cake. I was thinking something simple with fondant draping in gold on it. I don't want it to look to much like a wedding cake. Does anyone have any suggestions or pictures, maybe something with a religious theme? Thanks!

Have you ck'd out the cake galleries on this site? There's not a catagory 'religious' but a couple of others might help like father's dayicon_smile.gif
A tiered cake does not have to look like a wedding cake if you use colored icings - something more bold helps. There is a gallery catagory of differnt colored themed cakes.

You could alway go with the standard pictures, like praying hands, dove, little church.

You could find out what his favorate Bible verse is and write that on the cake.
