I have a wedding cake in Oct. to make and the Bride wants yellow. I love the texture of the WASC and was wondering if anyone has ever tried this. Thanks!!! thumbs_up.gif

Yes, you can use yellow cake mix. icon_smile.gif

Actually, my DH's favorite is orange cake with Rich's Bettercreme for a creamsicle cake. I just use a DH orange cake mix and use orange extract instead of almond.

You can use any flavor of cake mix and complementary extracts.

Here's the expanded flavors version of the WASC recipe:

Oh yes! You can really use any cake mix and follow the recipe for WASC; just make sure to use flavors that compliment the flavor of cake you are making. icon_biggrin.gif

Yep! 6 whole eggs instead of 8 whites and I like to use 2 tsp vanilla and 2 tsp buttery sweet dough flavoring in my yellow.
