Chocolate Buttercream Question

can you use hot chocolate mix instead of the coco poweder? Or is that the exact samething? Can you tell I am new to the whole making my own frosting? lol icon_redface.gif

Do you not have any cocoa? Hot chocolate mix is going to have more than just cocoa in it, like sugar. And I'm guessing it will probably take alot of it to make it chocolately enough.

If you want to make some and don't have cocoa, do you have any chocolate in the house? You can add melted chocolate to the icing. Either Baker's Chocolate Sqaures, chocolate chips or even Candy melts. There is also a recipe in the recipe section that uses chocolate syrup.

I don't have any but I will buy some. I just didn't know the diffrence between them. I do have chocolate chips tho. Thank you for your advice.
